As a CFA Charterholder Gilbert Abela has over 10 years of hands-on experience in finance, including roles as Portfolio Manager and Senior Client Manager at Finco Treasury Management, Portfolio Analyst at Cevian Capital (activist fund), Equity Analyst at Curmi & Partners and Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors. Gilbert’s background encompasses leading analysis on Maltese and international assets, serving on investment and risk committees, building Excel/VBA systems for performance attribution, VaR, stress testing, and Monte Carlo simulations, approving NAVs for UCITS/AIF funds, and delivering strategies that achieved outperformance. This foundation enables him to offer independent, MFSA-aligned consulting as Risk Management Officer, Valuation Officer and Independent Investment Committee Member.
